General info

Patch: 3.2 Clockwork City
Class: Nightblade
Purpose: Dungeon and Veteran Dungeon Tank

This build is meant for Nightblades that want to run dungeons as a tank. It’s main focus is providing a decent amount of heals, and together with that a decent uptime of the Spell Power Cure buff on all allies in the team. I have made two setups in terms of gear. One is focussed on maximum support, giving that extra bit of penetration. The other is focussed on sustain and shall be a bit easier to play for the newcomers.

1. Argonian -> Extra healing output and input, plus a built in resource management system.
2. High Elf -> Extra magicka and magicka recovery is a strong bonus for a Nightblade.
3. Breton -> Great max magicka pool, cost reduction and extra spell resistance.

Stats & Supplies

The Nightblade is good at keeping itself alive. For this reason we can easily run around with health around 35k, even a little less if you feel you don’t need it. Simply make sure that you reach this health amount with your food eaten. Distribute the rest of your attributes over magicka and stamina.

As for supplies we will use purple cp150 food that increases all our max stats. As for potions we will use the tri-stat potions that give back stamina, magicka and health (cp150 of course). In some fights it is still nice to use major vitality/lingering health pots, but you will have to see which ones suit you best.

Mundus stone -> The Atronach (magicka recovery). It is still important to keep magicka recovery up. Most of your utility skills cost magicka and you will be able to regen this while blocking.

Be a vampire. Yes, the 10% magicka regen is worth it. The extra fire damage is a joke.

Champion Points (690)

Warrior Constellation

Elemental Defender -> 49 points
Hardy -> 49 points
Thick Skinned -> 56 points
Ironclad -> 66 points

Skills

Hover with your mouse over the skill names to see their details.

Bar 1:

Heroic Slash: Debufs the enemy with minor maim, making sure they do 15% less damage. Will also give you minor heroism, increasing your ultimate gain. Yes, shades give minor maim also, but not the heroism.
Pierce Armor: Melee taunt that runs 15 seconds. Also debufs the enemy for 12 seconds with major fracture and major breach.
Funnel Health: A cheap self heal, that also heals an ally. This ability can be spammed during boss fights and will contribute to a nice SPC uptime on your allies.
Absorb Magick: Will give you 8% block cost reduction and 8% damage mitigation by having it slotted. Also handy to spam in heave projectile fights, like Rakkhat in Maw of Lorkhaj.
Siphoning Attacks: A skill based around skill. It allows you to regain resources by doing damage. Extremely helpful for a tank.
Ultimate -> Soul Harvest: We DO NOT use this skill. However, due to its passive ability to give ultimate once an enemy dies, it is a nice choice. Free ultimate.

Bar 2:

 Inner Rage: A taunt that you can use on range to initiate encounters. It will cost magicka, but it also has a stamina morph. Which one you chose is a matter of personal preference.
Mirage
: A Nightblade skill that gives you a dodge chance of 15% for 26 seconds. Also increases your physical and spell resistance.
Refreshing Path: A frontal AOE damage over time ability that heals allies standing in it. Again contributing to SPC uptime on allies.
Energy Orb: Cast an orb that when synergyzed will restore resources to the synergyzer. Very nice for supporting DD players. Also contributes to the SPC uptime.
Efficient Purge: Remove negative effects from your allies. Though this slot is a flex slot, and can be changed for other needs.
Ultimate -> Aggressive Horn: An ability that will increase your group’s crit damage for 10 seconds and it will increase all their stat pools by 10% for 30 seconds. This is by a clear mile the strongest ultimate to use for tanks
